The First Windmill In Lefkada Was Built In 1741 And Its First Name Was Coffee-Windmill Or Old-Windmill (Paliomilos). In 1770 With The Revolution Of Greek People The Windmill Took The Name Of Muscovite Horlofe, Chief Of The Russian Powers, As Symbol Of Independence of The Greek Slaves Against The Turkish Domination.
It Was Used As Windmill Till The Second Word War, Which Was Used By The Italian Conquerors As A Pillbox.
Since 1995 Horlofe's Windmill (milos Tou Orlof) Is Waiting For You As A Cafe-Bar, To Enjoy Its Glamour All Seasons.

Kite School @ Milos Beach (5min walk)
The Milos Beach Kite & Windsurf Center one or the most famous places in Europe is situated in the northern part of the island (western Greece - Ionian Sea) on the beach of Ag. loannis.
The beach has a length of 4.5 km and width of 70 m. From April to September the island is considered to be amongst the best meeting points in Europe for windsurfers and kitesurfers from all over the world.
The Milos Beach Kite & Windsurf Center has been active in the world of windsurfing for 18 years and has been involved in the upbringing and improvement of kitesurfing for the last 14 years.
